Today was a fun and interesting day. Went to Biopolis, started from 7.15am and it ended around 6pm.
Biopolis is much loved! A tired yet fruitful journey. :DD
A place for us to explore, to do research and discover new interesting facts, how cool can that place be? One word to describe - COOL!
I want to work there. Anyone? Haha. But it's far! That's my only concern. Hehe.
It's like 185,000 square metres, if I never remember wrongly. It's really very big, and heard that there's a common basement which link all the buildings together. We went to four different buildings in total, touring their labs.
And I or rather most of us don't really understand some of the explanations by the speaker. Haha. It's too high a standard. Oh ya, we saw the cloning of DNA, all those high technology equipments, and one equipment which actually cost $1,000,000. Oh my god, it's like so expensive.
We saw zebrafishes, tadpoles/frogs, fruitflies and learnt more about the virus H5N1 or commonly known as the avian flu. H5N1 makes me think of CH_N_. Haha. Ms Chan's notes! LOL!
Through the video clips, explanations and seeing those samples under the microscope is a wonderful learning experience. We also wore the lab coats which made us looked like professionals. HAHA! Perhaps, it's our one and only chance?
Stood for hours yet exchanged for an eye-opening learning experience. It's afterall worthwhile. (:
